MOPS @ Scottsdale Bible Church meets on the first and third Thursday of every month, from 9:30-11:30am.

“MOPS was exactly what I was looking for in my journey of motherhood.”

Local mom to two boys (Luke is 3 years old and Ryan is 3 months old), Renee Genetti shares with us today how MOPS has impacted her life:

“I was first introduced to MOPS as a new mom in California. My husband traveled for work, I didn’t know many moms, and felt lonely. A mom from my church brought me dinner one night and told me about MOPS. Grateful for a home-cooked meal, I told her I hadn’t left the house since I had my son, let alone grocery shop. She set me up with a meal train, signed me up for MOPS, and took my son and me to the grocery store to “teach me the ropes!

MOPS was exactly what I was looking for in my journey of motherhood. Hungry for fellowship, I signed up for play dates and mom’s night outs. I felt confident and uplifted! The women I met were inspiring.

When I found out my husbandโ€™s job was was moving us to Scottsdale, the first thing I did was look for a MOPS group to join. I found MOPS @ SBC on Facebook. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive, even before I made the move! We were only in Arizona a couple of days when I went to my first meeting. Another mom gave me directions, met me in the parking lot, and helped me settle in. I joined MOPS @ SBC, was introduced to even more fabulous women, and the rest is history.

Moving over seven times in the last ten years, I’ve made friends in many places. However, the friends Iโ€™ve found at MOPS @ SBC are life-long friends who feel like home.”

  1. I would LOVE to be a part of a
MOPS group. I’m a fairly new SAHM to a 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl. I will admit that taking the leap from corporate world to mommy/wife world was a big & rewarding one. I wouldn’t change it for the world, but I’m not as outgoing as some would think and it’s been a lonely journey. I would love to get back into a church environment not only for me, but for my kids as well. Thanks!!!

  2. I am a mother to a 20month old son and expecting a girl in October. After 3 months of maternity I returned to full time work (4 days a week) with my mother watching my son her days off from teaching community college. I lost my job when he was 7 months old and after 6 months of me looking for employment then finding out I was pregnant (guess they aren’t kidding that it can happen while breastfeeding) we decided to try and strap ourselves together to afford me staying home for a little while. Financially it is tough…maybe impossible… but we pretend otherwise. So I don’t get out much – do my best to save gas money and limit shopping to bare essentials……forget about anything for myself. I think I feel the worst for my son who gets so little social exposuse. But I know that I would really love an “in” with other moms. I don’t have anyone we do play dates with. Any kind of support and friendships would be great for myself and my son.

  3. I’m really excited to get a chance to hang out with and get to know other moms of young kids and excited that my almost 2 yr old will get to play with some new friends too!!

  4. I’m so excited to be a table leader this year and play a key part in getting moms connected and ensuring they get the support they need. Being a mom is rewarding, but tough, and having friends to go through it with makes it so much better!!

  5. I’m excited for the fellowship with other moms in the same stage of life as me. It’s so nice to get encouragement from other moms and refuel our mommy tanks while our little ones get loved on! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. MOPS has been such a blessing to me–the fellowship with other women, and encouragement I receive is refreshing! And I so appreciate all the women who pray for our family.

  7. I’m most excited for a chance to join MOPS because I’m fairly new to AZ and am a SAHM. I need some girl time and so does my daughter. Who wants to be my friend?! Staying at home is very different for me and sometimes I think I need help figuring it all out. Can’t wait to meet everyone!

  8. I am excited to fellowship with other moms also on this preschool-aged journey. In addition, I feel it is so important to have mommy friends that share your faith. Im so looking forward to mops this year. ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. I am so excited to connect with other moms…sometimes I just need to hear, “I’ve been there!” Or “me too!!” About the things that make me feel crazy. Can’t wait to fellowship!

  10. I was inspired by a group of moms who lovingly came up to me to tell me about MOPS. It truly was Gods word as I was praying for more motherly interaction with other moms. I feel exited to join MOPS and I am grateful for these women as they have inspired me already. Looking forward to what’s to come in the future with MOPS! You have already brought me much joy just by having this group available. ~namaste

  11. I am so glad I can finally join this year! With my oldest now in full day kinder I won’t have to rush out and can really pour into some great relationships with other moms!!

  12. I think the most exciting part about joining MOPS is getting some kid-free time to be encouraged as a woman and mother.

  13. I’m excited to make new friends, spend some quality time with old friends, enjoy some great food, hot coffee and take a deep breath while my kids are loved for by the wonderful childcare workers! Can’t wait!

  14. I need this. I REALLY need this! lol. My oldest is starting preschool this year, which is going to allow me the flexibility to join MOPS for the first time! I have wanted to be a part of this organization for a couple of years but until now, my schedule did not allow for it. Winning the free registration would be HUGE for me and for my family, as my husband is transitioning to a new career and Dave Ramsey said MOPS may not be in the budget! Mommy friends are vital and I hope to make some new friends in MOPS this year. Pick me! Pick me!

  15. I have been interested in joining MOPS for years now it just never worked out with my schedule. A few of my friends have been telling me about it and after leaving last night I am super excited!! I know this would be a wonderful experience for me and my children. With our 3rd on the way I could definitely use this win! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am Excited about a lot but the thing I am most excited about is meeting woman who are a positive encouragement during this time in ours lives. I would love to have more people in my life who encourage me to be the best mother, wife, and person I can be! I know this will be an amazing experience and I am so excited to join!

  16. I am most excited about getting one-on-one time with many other mommies who are just like me. It is so nice to be able to connect w/ other moms who are going through the amazing motherhood journey with you. I love the women I have met so far in past MOPS seasons, and can’t for this season to meet many more as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. I would be very excited to get together with other moms! Most of the time, it’s SO hard to get out and do something. This would be a really good way to do that!

  18. I would just love to meet other mommies who have experienced the same things that I’m going through! Sometimes being a SAHM can be isolating, but connecting with other mommies can make us feel “normal” again ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. I love the mops concept! As a mom of a brand new 7 month old little boy navigating mom life has so many emotions and unknowns. Finding support within those who are going through the same stages is so important and an amazing way to make new community. Money is tight now that I decided to be a stay at home mom and lots of mom groups and mom and me classes cost lots of money in the valley. Winning this membership would be such a blessing!
