Win tickets to the SEA LIFE Aquarium in Phoenix!

This post was sponsored by SEA LIFE Arizona. I received tickets to visit the aquarium, though all opinions and observations are my own.

When I was in high school, I worked at an aquarium in the Mall of America in Minnesota (it was called Underwater World then but I think they’ve changed the name since I worked there … it was about a million years ago). I got the job because I knew someone who worked there and started out working in the gift shop. Eventually I worked my way up to giving tours in the aquarium. It was pretty much the best job ever; the people I worked with were really fun and it was so calming and serene to be “underwater” all day.

Since having my daughter last year I’ve been wanting to take her to a local Arizona aquarium. This past weekend we finally had the chance to make it to SEA LIFE Aquarium at Arizona Mills and it was amazing!  With tons of great exhibits that both kids and adults will enjoy.

We went on a Saturday morning and while there were definitely a lot of people there, it never felt overcrowded and we didn’t feel rushed at all. In fact, we spent about an hour walking through, and it was perfect. The staff was wonderful and very informative; we even got to see divers in the tunnel!

My daughter is 20 months old and she loved being able to get up close to and see everything at her level. There were many different kinds of fish and all the bright colors were mesmerizing to her. Each turn had a fun, new area to explore. There were interactive and informative stations throughout the whole aquarium so you could learn all about the fish and aquatic animals on display.

The touch pool was a favorite, you can see right into the water and even touch the starfish. There are also these great portals and tunnels where you can kneel/stand and  feel like you’re “in” the water!

The aquarium gives you this great “Dive Log Book” that the kiddos get to stamp each time they go through an exhibit. I think our daughter had almost as much fun stamping the booklet as she did looking at the fish! And at the end, you show your booklet to the employee at the photo desk and they give you a medal. My daughter thought this was the BEST thing ever!

No matter where you live in the valley, I would highly recommend a trip to SEA LIFE Aquarium. I know we’ll be back many more times. We all know the weather here in Phoenix can be pretty brutal in the summer so this will definitely be on my list of great indoor activities to keep the littles busy and the parents cool!
