Foodie Friday: Desoto Central Market

0

Here ye, here ye!  If you’re looking for the best new gathering space, a place to do a little work, maybe grab some food and a drink with a friend, possibly enjoy a swing dance lesson, pinata making or a farmer’s market, look no more!  Desoto Central Market is located downtown in the historic Desoto building, it currently houses a few food and drink joints from hamburgers to oysters, tea to fresh juice.  You can expect to see that list continue to expand as more vendors join this concept.   Speaking of the concept, it is similar to other popular gathering spaces in foodie cities like San Francisco and New York.  I think that it was time for Phoenix to have one and I fell in love with it right away.  Before having a newborn, you would find me down there lounging around, eating the most amazing cauliflower and drinking Teaspressa.

_DSC0069What’s inside this Central Market?  Well you can find DCM Burger, Yard Bird + The Larder, Tea + Toast, The Walrus and The Pearl, Radish, Adobo Dragon and Camelback Flower Shop.  They have an amazing patio and you can join them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Happy hour is also the perfect time to eat $4 hamburgers, like the south x southwest.  Chef Stephen is always changing up the menu at Yard Bird and you can find the likes of brunch there too.  Speaking of happy hour, I did mention that they have a bar right, so you can hang out and have a real drink with friends after work.

I think what I love most about this space (other than the food) is how creative the vendors/Chefs get to be.  But this affects the food because they get the freedom to mix it up, do fun specials.  For instance, Teaspressa and their poptart pastry provider featured a Lady La poptart and drink.  We’re talking ridiculous pineapple goodness people, check out their Instagram feed to see what I’m talking about.

desotonorthphoenixmomsblog Yard Bird + Larder started doing truck stop Tuesdays, where you can find parker house rolls, corned pork butt mac n cheese, peaches and burrata, sweet onion rings and so much more!  He just switched up the lunch menu too and is offering a mouthwatering take on the KFC sammie.  The list of deliciousness goes on and on.  You might have been down there last week but there’s new stuff to try on the menu this week.  I say, keep up the good work guys, I love what you’re doing!!  And fellow foodies, get your butt down there asap and tell Chef Stephen that AZFoodie and North Phoenix Moms Blog sent you. xoxodesotonorthphoenixmomsblog
