Islands: One of the Best Restaurants for Food, Family and Football

This post was sponsored by Island's Burgers, but all opinions and thoughts are our own.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Islands at Desert Ridge on a Sunday, for some football.  Unlike most, I shockingly don’t typically care for burgers but it is absolutely safe to say that Islands has converted me to a burger lover! My husband’s favorite food, of course, is a good burger and the both of us had absolutely nothing but positive things to say about the service, food, and over all atmosphere of our dinner.

img_2585Being an Arizona native, I remembered eating at Islands when I was a kid. My husband (the burger obsessed man-child) was not familiar with this restaurant, however. As excited as we were to get a night out together, our son is still learning how to sit still and behave properly in a restaurant. We were overwhelmed with how friendly and attentive the staff at Islands was, particularly to my son. When he started to get antsy and, in the words of our hilarious server, “hangry,” the server was quick to get this crazy little 1 year old a hamburger bun to squish up and eat until his food was ready. It was relieving to be in a place where our busy little man would get the positive attention he needs!

The kid’s menu had plenty of options. We try to choose veggies or fruit for our soon when it is available rather than fries, and Islands did exactly that on their menu! It was also nice to see that they provided options on meal sizes for kids by age. What a great idea! There were fun games and coloring items on the inside of the kid’s menu as well … excellent for entertainment!

islands2Islands also had a “Paradise’s Bikini Beach” section of the adult menu full of healthier options! As I mentioned previously, I’m typically not a burger eater. It was nice to know that there were other options on the menu! I’ll definitely return to try their “Sleek Greek” salad sometime soon!

When we were ready to order, I couldn’t help but think about how great the “Malibu” burger sounded. I stepped outside of my comfort zone, ordered it, and let me tell you it. was. delicious!  My husband ordered the “Maui” burger complete with freshly made guacamole and cheese.  Both were a hit!

One of my favorite parts about this restaurant was the atmosphere. The music was fun enough for my son to dance around in his highchair to and the football game coverage created a place for football lovers to feel as if they were tailgating outside of the stadium!

img_2612Every Monday and Thursday throughout football season, Islands will extend happy hour and they also offer happy hour pricing all day Sundays. Football lovers can stay hydrated and satisfied while cheering on their favorite team with signature drinks and great food specials.  No matter the score, guests will celebrate Islands NFL Happy Hour with a touchdown victory dance. The game day promotions will vary by location with bartender-call-it discounted drinks, giveaways and games. Those looking for the full viewing experience can catch all the action with NFL Sunday Ticket and won’t miss a single touchdown or interception with NFL Redzone playing on big screen TVs at every Islands location.

Islands is the place for families, friends, football lovers, and couples to go relax and have a great time! My family truly enjoyed it and I’m confident yours will too!  Also, if you purchase $25 in gift cards in any location or online, you receive an additional $5 just for you!  Better yet, we’re giving away one $25 gift card so you can go enjoy Island’s for yourself!  Enter below!
