Norterra’s Earn and Learn Program

A Vehicle for Parents to Pay it Forward

Parents in North Phoenix have a unique opportunity to financially help the schools their kids attend, thanks to The Shops at Norterra.

In August, Norterra launched its annual Earn and Learn school rewards program. By simply shopping, dining, receiving services or seeing a movie at The Shops at Norterra and submitting receipts online, consumers can help their school earn a grant of up to $2,500. The program began August 1, 2016 and runs through March 31, 2017. Receipts can be redeemed for points by logging on here.

For every dollar spent at any of the shops, restaurants, service-providers, Harkins Norterra Theater or even the purchase of a Norterra Gift Card, the selected school earns 5 points. Double and quadruple points opportunities are offered at select businesses throughout the program as well. Bonus points can also be earned through interaction on social media and attending events at The Shops at Norterra.

Since 2013, The Shops at Norterra has contributed more than $23,000 to dozens of public and charter schools in the North Phoenix and surrounding areas through the Earn and Learn program. Another $14,000 will be awarded this year – a 75-percent increase from the previous year – with grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 per school. All totaled, more than 3 million Earn and Learn points were tallied over the last school year, an increase of 350 percent from the previous year.

Last year’s winner, Ridgeline Academy, received a grant of $2,000.

The list of participating schools for the 2016-2017 Earn & Learn program are:

  • Adams Traditional Academy
  • Barry Goldwater High School
  • Boulder Creek Elementary School
  • Desert Sage Elementary School
  • Mountain Ridge High School
  • Norterra Canyon School
  • Ridgeline Academy
  • Sandra Day O’Connor High School
  • Sonoran Foothills School
  • Stetson Hills School
  • Sunset Ridge School
  • Terramar School

Like the box-top program, Earn and Learn is an easy way for consumers to support their local schools,” says Jill Jones, The Shops at Norterra’s marketing director. “If you’re going to shop, eat out or see a movie anyway, why not have the money you spend help your school at the same time?”

Several of Norterra’s shops and restaurants also contribute bonus points through fundraisers coordinated with the schools.

So, pay it forward and help North Phoenix schools by shopping at The Shops at Norterra.
