The Best Books to Read This Summer

1

Growing up,  my sister and I would always participate in the annual “summer reading challenge” at our local library, and it’s one of my favorite summer memories!  I’ve carried this love of reading into adulthood and think that everyone can enjoy reading if they find a genre that excites them!

Summer Reading for Moms

I know that, as busy mamas, it can feel like we don’t have time to read.  I get it, mommin’ is hard work and we all wear multiple hats a day. But, I read a few books a month by making reading a priority in my busy life; finding a few minutes here and there during nap time, waiting for the pasta water to boil, or in the evening in lieu of watching TV. When you pack your bag every morning, make sure you throw your current book in there too! You never know when you will have an unexpected lull in the day.

Summer is a great time to kick-start a new reading habit, the days are longer and slower and (hopefully) filled with a vacation or two. I use both Phoenix and Scottsdale Public Libraries to rent e-books that get downloaded directly to my Kindle, so I never have to worry about returning a book on time! I am going challenge everyone to read at least one book this summer 🙂
