As a photographer, I understand completely how stressful family photos can be sometimes. First, you have to find a photographer whose work you love and that you can trust to capture you and your family’s memories. Then there is the matter of what to wear and coordinating everyone, without being too matchy-matchy. And then on the day-of, you have to get everyone in the family picture perfect, including yourself, which, let’s be honest, is probably something you don’t have to do very often! It is enough to drive most mama’s a little off the deep end.

So when my friend Paige of The Love Designed Life came to me at Dream Photography Studio with the idea of providing all of that for mothers and their children in one premium package, I was in!  And the Mother + Child Co. project was born.

At Mother and Child Co., we offer premium sessions where we come to you with our team: photography, clothing + set styling, fresh floral crowns, and hair + make-up artist to take the stress out of it all so you can relax and enjoy not only being pampered, but capturing special memories for and of you and your little ones. We love bumps, babies, + beyond. Wherever you are in this motherhood journey, we want to capture it for YOU!

And now Mother + Child Co. is thrilled to introduce our latest pop-up sessions! Our pop-up sessions are a modified version of our premium services. We hold them at one specified location and still offer photography, styling, flower crowns, hair + make-up, but just in a shorter timeframe and for a smaller investment. This is a great way to take advantage of all that we offer, but space is super limited and we only do these sessions a few times a year!

As a professional photographer, I of course highly value quality photography with my family. I did not think it was possible to appreciate photos anymore than I already do but now that my son is a teenager, the images I have of him when he was “little” have a very special place in my heart… especially those of us together!  For some reason, we as moms tend to shy away from getting photos taken with our family. Perhaps for our own insecurities on camera. But there is no time like now. One day they will grow up.  One day they won’t need you like they use to.  Soak up all those moments, whether they be snuggles or chasing them around playing tickle monster, those moments are the ones you will want to have and treasure forever.

I can’t even begin to describe how incredible my recent experience with Mother + Child Co. was. My new baby girl wasn’t even six weeks old at our shoot, which was right around Mother’s Day. I hadn’t been able to capture any pictures of my two girls together yet so these pictures are seriously the best Mother’s Day present ever! The way Paige styled the setting was absolutely dreamy and the clothing options that were available were gorgeous. Stacey and Paige together were so incredibly helpful and patient. They put us all at ease and there was no feeling of being rushed at all. My two year old is apparently in the no-picture-taking phase, so getting a good shot of her was almost impossible. But Stacey was so sweet with her and made it fun, and the result was some amazing pictures of her that I will treasure always.

I just got to peek at all of the pictures that were taken and I’m literally having the hardest time trying to figure out which ones to get printed! I think a photo book is in order on top of regular prints. I am so grateful to have these beautiful memories captured so that I’ll always be able to look back on these days and remember the craziness and the beauty of those first couple of months as a mother of two.
